The VELscope Mantis now connects directly to SOTA Cloud. Fluorescence, reflectance, and white-light images captured during an oral mucosal exam upload automatically to the patient record in the cloud. No syncing, no file management on a workstation, no delay. The image is in the chart before the clinician sets the handpiece down.

One device, one workflow

The Mantis is a cordless handpiece with a built-in iPhone adapter for hands-free, high-resolution capture across all three visualization modes: blue-light fluorescence, polarized white-light reflectance, and traditional white light. LED Dental tuned custom acquisition settings for each mode, so the images are consistent, high-fidelity representations of tissue rather than standard phone photos.

Once those images reach SOTA Cloud, the platform’s tools take over: AI-generated referral letters that compile images and clinical notes for a specialist, a secure specialist portal, and integration with leading practice management systems, all in one HIPAA-compliant system.

Why seamless documentation matters

Enhanced visualization helps clinicians evaluate tissue changes that may be less apparent under standard light, but that value depends on documentation. Without a documented image there is no baseline, and no way to track change over time. When images move to the chart automatically, documentation stops competing with clinical time and simply becomes part of the exam.
