BURNABY, British Columbia – Jan. 10, 2012 – LED Dental, a division of LED Medical Diagnostics Inc. (“LED Medical”, “the Company”), announced that its VELscope Vx® enhanced early detection system will be featured on “The Doctors” TV show Wednesday, January 11, 2012. The theme of that day’s show is, “Twelve Tricks to Save Your Life in 2012”. The VELscope Vx® system is exclusively distributed in the U.S. and Canada by Henry Schein Dental (NASDAQ:HSIC).

Local listings for the show are available on the show’s website.

This airing is just the latest example of how important VELscope Vx®’s early detection technology is becoming in the minds of high-profile health experts. In 2011, The Dr. Oz Show did a major story featuring Dr. Jonathan Levine demonstrating the VELscope Vx®’s ability to help dentists detect oral cancer at early stages. Both “The Dr. Oz Show” and “The Doctors” have done previous stories on the VELscope Vx® system as well.

The cordless VELscope Vx® is the latest generation of VELscope® fluorescence visualization devices. This is the first adjunctive technology cleared by the FDA and Health Canada to help clinicians detect cancerous and precancerous lesions that might not be apparent to the naked eye, and to help determine the appropriate surgical margin when excision is indicated. VELscope Vx® exams take only 2 minutes and are affordable and completely non-invasive for patients.
